Selecting words, lines, sentences and paragraphs

In Microsoft Word, do you select a line of text or a paragraph, by manually moving the mouse pointer over the entire line or paragraph concerned, while keeping the left mouse button held down? There is an easier way! Move your mouse pointer to the left of the line or paragraph in question until the cursor changes from a beam to the standard arrow cursor. Click once to select the current line of text, twice to select the current paragraph, or three times to select the entire document (which you can also do by pressing CONTROL-A).

In OpenOffice.org 2.0 and StarOffice 8.0, move to the beginning of the line or paragraph in question, click once to insert the cursor, click once more to select the first word, twice to select the sentence and three times to select the paragraph.  To select a line, click once at the beginning of the line, move the mouse to the end of the line, hold down the shift key and click the mouse. This method can be used to select any amount of text. If you cannot see the end of the text you wish to select, simply scroll down to it. The methods described in this paragraph will work in most word processors, including Word.
