| How to remove an unwanted formatYou can remove any character formatting quickly from a selection in Word 2000 and later. Simply highlight the selection you wish to return to default formatting and press Ctrl-Spacebar or Ctrl-Shift-Z. To remove paragraph formatting, simply press Ctrl-Q. This will not work in StarOffice/OpenOffice Writer. Use Alt-O followed by D instead. This activates the appropriate menu options without your having to use the mouse and reverts the selection to the default for that paragraph style. Alternatively, highlight the selection you wish to return to default formatting, choose Normal in the style list, click on Format and click on Default. Another use for reverting to Default paragraph formatting is to remove a hyperlink. Simply highlight the link and click on the Format menu and choose Default. The link is gone and the text will match the default for that paragraph. |
